Rick boasts a masters degree in the art of teaching and has coached athletes for over 30 years. During his career, Rick has taught hundreds of students how to improve their golf game. He discovered that he could help his students' performance by custom-fitting their clubs.

In addition to teaching, Rick is a gifted athlete who
played professionally in the NFL for teams such as the Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, and the Cincinnati Bengals. After the NFL, Rick transitioned to teaching and coaching.

Rick retired from teaching in 2021, and became a PGA associate at Willamette Valley Country Club as an assistant golf professional.
In 2024, Rick came to Rock Creek Country Club as a certified club fitter, instructor and expert in club repair. Rick has all of his Trackman badges and several club manufacturer certifications. Rick has attained elite status as a Srixon club fitter and often performs fittings for Srixon in Oregon, Washington, and California. Rick now offers club fitting, club repair and instructional lessons on an appointment-only basis at Rock Creek.
